You reach DHA Rahbar via Defence Road, which links to Raiwind Road, Ferozepur Road and the southern loop of the Lahore Ring Road. That Ring Road connection is the one families find most useful, because it lets you skip a lot of inner-city traffic when heading to other parts of Lahore.

On drive times, we prefer to be honest rather than precise. Lake City is about 5–10 minutes away by car. For anywhere further, such as the airport, Gulberg, the old city or the main DHA phases, the time depends far more on the hour you leave than on the distance. A trip that is easy at 11am on a weekday can double around school pick-up or on a wedding night in December. Our practical advice:

• Check a live map before you leave. Look at the estimated time at your actual departure hour, not the time in the morning.
• Use the Ring Road for longer hops. For the airport and the north and east of the city, it is usually the calmer option.
• Add a buffer on event nights. In wedding season (October to February) and around Eid, roads near marquees and markets get busy in the evening.

What’s near DHA Rahbar for everyday needs?

For day-to-day essentials, DHA Rahbar and the communities around it have mosques, parks, grocery and milk shops, gyms, salons and small commercial areas within the blocks. You will not need to cross the city for bread, fruit, a pharmacy run or Friday prayers.

• Mosques: Most blocks have a mosque within walking distance, so prayer times are easy to keep.
• Parks: Several blocks have green parks, a relief for children after a long flight.

The trade-off is that it is not in the centre of Lahore. If your plans are mostly in the old city or Gulberg every single day, factor in travel time.
